A couple weeks ago when he was fist discovering how to stand by himself he realized he could get quite the reaction from us if he lifted his hands off of whatever he was holding onto and balance by himself. He started pulling himself up on me while I was laying on the floor and then a couple times lifted his hands from me so he was standing all by himself. We'd clap and say wohoo! And he'd get excited and do it again. This went on for a long time over and over. Then he started throwing his head back while his hands were in the air which made him lose his balance and fall, but he'd just do it again. He'd also cheat by balancing his knees against me but still putting his hands up in the air. It was super cute!
He loves to take golf balls into the kitchen and bounce them and watch them roll all around the kitchen floor. Sometimes he'll get a ball in each and and try to crawl somewhere and since his hands are so small they don't wrap around the whole ball so instead of walking with his hands on the ground he balances on the the balls. It's funny.
He's getting to be a little stinker sometimes too. If he doesn't get what he wants right away he cries, but is easily distracted still :) I taught him how to give 5 and wave bye-bye. He sleeps through the night most night or at least until 6 or 7. He loves to eat anything we're eating, but no teeth yet.
This last weekend Heather came up with the kids to stay with us because Richard had to work all weekend. On their way up she rolled their car on I15 near Fillmore. She thinks she just looked back and then felt rumble strips and over-corrected a couple of times. The front left tire fell off and they rolled at least once. She hit a reflector on the side of the road which broke her window. They landed upside down and no one saw the accident. A few minutes later a man saw the dust settle and pulled over. The left side of the vehicle was up in the air and the right side was on the ground. Everyone was ok. Kai has a broken collar bone and Heather got some stitches in her left arm and it's quite bruised and she can't really move it without a lot of pain. That's it though! Minutes before it happened Kai was out of his seat belt trying to find a movie because theirs had just ended. She told him to get back in and then still can't remember exactly what happened to cause the accident.
Kai was pulled out first by his shoulders and never cried. He was just worried about the others. Truckers pulled open the trunk and crawled in to get Mei and Tristan out. Tristan was smiling when they pulled the blanket off him which was not on him before they wrecked. Not a piece of glass on him. Mei had virtually no scrapes at all. The passengers side in the front was smashed but Heather's side looked like it had been help up to protect her. Michelle, Daniel and I rushed down to Fillmore to be with her and the kids. When I got there they were putting stitches in Heathers arm and the kids were running around like nothing had happened. It could have so much more easily been a deadly accident, I still can't believe they're all alive and still walking around. The Lord was surely watching out and protecting them. There is just simply no other way to explain it.
When something like this happens it always brings things back into perspective again. Cherish those you love. You never know how long you will have with them. Treat the people you care about like you really care about them. How easily our lives could have been drastically changed had things happened just a bit differently.

Oh my gosh! I just love how Molly Mormon you are. I want to be just like you one day ;) So glad to hear that Heather and the kids are okay. What a scary thing to go through. I need to come visit soon :)
Wow, so glad youre family is okay! That is amazing, and what you said about cherishing the ones you love is so true. I've been trying to do that more often.
Looks like you got a swing! Does Cohen love it?
